A reading corner sounds like something for big houses. In practice, it's almost always a matter of putting three things in the right spot.

One chair you'd genuinely want to sit in for more than ten minutes. Comfort matters more than style here — a beautiful chair no one sits in doesn't count.

One warm lamp at eye level when you're seated. Overhead light rarely works well for reading.

One small surface within arm's reach for a cup of tea and the book. Anything beyond that is optional.

Ideally, place the whole set-up in a corner you don't normally walk through. A reading spot in a traffic path tends to be subconsciously avoided.
