Almost every kitchen was arranged years ago based on where things happened to fit at the time. That explains why the most-used pan is rarely in the most logical spot.
Professional organisers almost always start with the same exercise: spend a day putting everything you reach for back in a different, better place than where it was. What you use often belongs at eye level and close to the stove.
Then comes the less enjoyable part: emptying the cabinets you rarely open. Usually about half of what's in there hasn't been used in years.
The renovation many people consider is often not necessary. A kitchen that's laid out logically feels bigger on its own.
